Developing a melodic but powerful style of metal, Agro have managed to build a strong following in South Africa since their formation in 1992. The first album, From Within, with dramatic cover art that reflected political tensions in South Africa, was released in 1995, receiving considerable airplay and generating a great deal of interest. Unfortunately, 1996 was marred by the death of 22-year-old rhythm guitarist David Kietzmann following a car accident. A second album, Eyes, was released in 1997. ~ Steven McDonald
