About HELLO

Hello were formed in north London in 1971 by teenagers Bob Bradbury (vocals), Keith Marshall (guitar), Vic Faulkner (bass), and Jeff Allen (drums), and during the early '70s the band released singles penned by Russ Ballard and by Chinn & Chapman that failed to gain traction. After gigging for several years, they finally achieved success with a glam rocked rendition of the Exciters' early-'60s hit "Tell Him," which hit number six in the British charts. Success in both the British and German charts followed, and the band's debut album, Keeps Us Off the Streets, arrived in 1975. However, British success again eluded Hello, and by 1976 the band had all but permanently located to Germany, where they continued a string of hits before disbanding in 1979. ~ Dave Thompson
