The Judds Essentials

The Judds Essentials

The Judds' domination of country music in the '80s can't be overstated. Naomi Judd and her daughter Wynonna first hit No.1 on the US country charts on just their second single, 1983’s Mama He’s Crazy,” and never looked back; the duo went on to rack up 13 more No. 1s in America from 1984 to 1989. Along the way, the pair also managed to nab just about every country duo award around. Though 1991 marked a formal end to their career together, due to the elder Judd's health issues, Naomi and Wynonna (who carried on a successful solo career) made some special appearances together in subsequent years, keeping the flame alive in a new era. Naomi died at age 76 on April 30. 2022.
