More than just an a cappella ensemble, Take 6 combine doo-wop, jazz syncopation, African beats and an inspirational message that transcends musical and cultural barriers. From the Huntsville, Alabama, act's 1988 debut through today, members have tackled everything from pure gospel to Great American Songbook standards to soul classics by Stevie Wonder and Curtis Mayfield. Along the way, the group's collected 10 GRAMMY®s, 10 Dove Awards, a Soul Train Award and collaborated with the likes of Ray Charles, Whitney Houston, Quincy Jones, Don Henley, Queen Latifah, k.d. lang and CeCe Winans.
