Sixpence None the Richer Essentials

Everyone knows that Texas's Sixpence None The Richer are a pop band, thanks to several irresistible chart hits, most notably 1997's inescapable "Kiss Me"—but fewer know they're also a Christian band. Named for a passage from C.S. Lewis's Mere Christianity, the interplay between songwriter Matt Slocum's chiming guitar lines and Leigh Nash's soft siren vocals forms an arresting mix, equally devoted to lilting pop as to expressions of faith and worship. Despite a few problems, like the folding of their record company and a hiatus from 2004-07, the band have released six studio LPs.
