Olympia Auset: Nourishment & Resilience

Olympia Auset has always felt like everyone should have access to organic groceries, but after college she made it her life’s mission. Beginning in her native South Los Angeles, Auset founded SÜPRMARKT, an organic grocery service that provides fresh produce to residents of South Central’s food deserts. For the third phase of Apple’s Black History Month celebration, Nourishment & Resilience, Auset created a playlist full of songs that have provided inspiration to her in the same way she aims to provide healthy options for her community, from artists Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, Mos Def, Bill Withers and 2Pac. “This playlist represents the myriad of ways Africans in America have nourished with music across the ages,” she says. “It features songs I've sung thousands of times, songs that soothed me in my toughest times and songs that expanded my mind. Just put it on shuffle and vibe.” And if you hear something you like, be sure to save it to your library.
