New York Dolls: Influences

New York Dolls: Influences

The New York Dolls fused disparate influences into a beautifully bombastic sound entirely their own. Though they drew obvious inspiration from The Rolling Stones, The Velvet Underground and proto-punks like The Stooges, they also adored the R&B and humour of The Coasters, the rock 'n' roll of Little Richard and Chuck Berry, as well as girl groups such as The Shangri-Las and The Ronettes.
