Prolific electronic music duo Laid Back, made up of John Guldberg and Tim Stahl, formed in 1979 in Copenhagen and went on to change the face of dance music. Pioneering a sound way ahead of its time, they mixed synth-pop with New Wave while exploring cutting-edge technologies—popularising synthesisers, drum machines and multitrack recording. Best known for ‘80s hits “Maybe I'm Crazy”, “Sunshine Reggae” and “Bakerman”, they influenced a generation of internationally acclaimed artists like New Order and 2 Live Crew, achieving what few artists can to make a lasting impact on a whole genre.
