Inspired by Chuck Berry

Chuck Berry's style of guitar-playing and songwriting was inimitable. But that doesn't mean plenty of folks throughout the years didn't take a whack at recreating it. The Beatles' and The Stones' travellin'-man tales perfectly mimic Chuck's upbeat, blues-rock storytelling. The Ramones and the Sex Pistols distilled Berry's raw, minimal riffs into what would become the genesis of scrappy three-chord punk. And Wilco and The Black Keys elevated his style of playing twangy, searing solos within their complex indie-rock tunes.
