Graham Nash Essentials

Graham Nash was the tender conscience of the Woodstock generation, penning anthems that are simple, honest and absurdly hummable. In an era racked by war and social upheaval, he soothed restless hippies with tales of domestic bliss tucked inside California canyons (“Our House”) while at the same time pleading with them to raise their children with love and kindness (“Teach Your Children”). Nash, like his mates in CSN&Y, employs a wealth of folk and country sounds, but his bouncy melodies set him apart. It's a quality he nurtured as a member of The Hollies, with whom he penned hook-laden pop like 1967's “King Midas In Reverse”.
