Born in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1975, Mladen Solomon first made his mark on dance music in 2005, founding the Diynamic label in his adopted hometown of Hamburg, Germany. Diynamic’s heady, late-night grooves helped inaugurate a new era of deep house on dance floors primed for sensual, psychedelic, slow-burning vibes. But Solomun reigns principally from the DJ booth: At his Solomun+1 residency at Ibiza’s Pacha nightclub, he became known for bringing a carefully controlled sense of drama to the decks, fleshing out smooth deep house with crowd-pleasing edits and hands-in-the-air anthems.
