About Richard Croft

Lyric tenor Richard Croft specializes in Mozart and Rossini but has a large repertory stretching from Monteverdi to music of the present day. His brother Dwayne is also a professional singer, and the two have performed together. During the first part of his career, Richard focused on the growing field of historical performance, working as a soloist on tour with Les Musiciens du Louvre and conductor Marc Minkowski. Croft has appeared at major U.S. and European houses and has appeared in operas ranging from Wagner's Das Rheingold to Philip Glass' Satyagraha. He also performs frequently in concert music. Croft has been featured on many recordings, dating back as far as 1995 when he was heard with the Boston Baroque in a recording of Mozart's Requiem. Croft's performance in Satyagraha appeared in 2021. Since 2004, Croft has been on the faculty of the University of North Texas.
