French pop group PZK have scored a string of hits with their upbeat mélange of electro-pop, hip-hop, and dance music while their lyrics take playful aim at the obsessions of the typical teenage boy, including girls, school, partying, girls, pizza, video games, loud music, and girls. PZK was formed in 2006 by five longtime friends: MC, producer, and DJ KBC, MC JLB, producer Baobab, MC Djouzy Djouz, and MC Olf. The guys began writing funny rap lyrics for fun in their early teens, and as their skills improved, they started recording. Their podcasts and mixtapes began attracting a large following on the internet, eventually scoring the group a record contract with Warner Music Group. Their debut album, simply titled PZK, appeared in 2009.
