About Jill Sobule
A true original, singer-songwriter Jill Sobule can create earnest folk, torrid anti-folk, soaring power pop, or Dr. Demento-level novelty, often combined on the same song. She was catapulted into the alternative rock spotlight for her 1995 sexually ambiguous MTV Buzz Bin hit, "I Kissed a Girl." While she never returned to such an exalted national stage, Sobule continued to construct inventive music, touring constantly into the next century, all the while concocting innovative ways to get her songs out there (she was one of the first artists to allow consumers to name their own price for her CDs).
