In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. When I was 17 I was invited to do the first of 3 Radio 1 sessions for the John Peel show. Legend has it that Peel was going to a gig and took a handful of demo tapes with him to listen to in the car. By the time he arrived at the gig I'd been chosen! What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Rooted in 1970s funk and the messages of the Black Panthers, they're inspired by Stevie Wonder, Gil Scott Heron, Marvin Gaye and Malcolm X. Its new incarnation, following Hakim Jamal, is a collective called The Mint 400. Their Northern Soul sound will debut in Spring 2024.
