The Los Angeles-based (Colorado-born) singer Ace Young caught the public eye as a contestant on the fifth season of the TV show AMERICAN IDOL. Young placed seventh overall, but as is the case with IDOL runners-up, he had a passel of labels eager to sign him as soon as he exited the competition. His debut album, released in 2008, showcases his exceptional vocal chops amidst unabashedly full-throttle pop-rock productions, some co-written with superstar songwriter Desmond Child. Young has also collaborated with fellow IDOL competitor and friend Chris Daughtry.
