Eterno

Eterno

When Manuel Medrano’s eponymous debut appeared back in 2015, the Latin music community was quick to herald him as one of its best new artists. Now, years after those initial awards and accolades, the Colombian singer shows that acclaim was well-founded with the release of Eterno. The album opens with two mood-setting midtempo rockers, “Tengo Que Llegar A Tiempo” and “Más Allá”. But from there, he keeps listeners on their toes with a considerably more eclectic mix. “Esta Noche” offers swinging house reminiscent of Daft Punk at its poppiest, while “No Sé Si Salga El Sol” slows things to a breezy roots reggae tempo. All the while, Medrano delivers catchy hooks, romantic sentiments and an understated cool that benefits whatever style he chooses to tackle.
