Talking Heads Essentials

Talking Heads Essentials

Emerging from the fertile underground of mid-'70s New York, Talking Heads proved that accessibility and intelligence needn't be mutually exclusive. With their angular guitar riffs and tight grooves, the group virtually invented New Wave with their 1977 debut. But it was their subsequent collaborations with Brian Eno that perhaps best utilized frontman David Byrne's nervous energy. 1983's Speaking In Tongues and 1985's Little Creatures continued to bring art rock to the masses and influenced a wave of younger acts like Franz Ferdinand and Vampire Weekend.
