Shekhinah Essentials

The rise of Shekhinah reads like a pop-rooted manual where perseverance is key. After her short stint on SA Idols, the Pietermaritzberg-born songstress came out of the starting blocks featuring on Kyle Deutch's electro-tinged "Back To The Beach", which became the summer anthem of 2015. A string of high profile features proceeded this, as she worked alongside Sketchy Bongo ("Let You Know"), Black Coffee ("Your Eyes") and Tellaman ("Whipped). And while the release of her debut album Rose Gold saw her swipe three SAMAs and cemented her into the canon of SA pop starlets, her style and neo-R&B sound remain ever-evolving.
