Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's beautiful acoustic medley of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World” made him one of Hawaii's most beloved musicians and an international superstar. From his early years singing and playing ukulele with the Makaha Sons of Ni'hau in the '70s to his solo releases of the '80s and '90s, IZ brought Hawaiian music to an international audience, working not only with acoustic ukulele music and folk, but also with reggae, pop and more.
