Deutscher Hip-Hop

Deutscher hip-hop has evolved a fair bit since Die Fantastischen Vier’s quirky 1992 track “Die Da!?!” (which sampled both Grover Washington and Star Wars) gave the genre its first big hit. Nowadays, the style is wide open: It can embrace aggressive flows and lyrical nuance; explore themes of pain and self-awareness; and take influence from trap, boom-bap, Europop, reggae, dancehall, club music—and pretty much everything in between. Our editors regularly update this playlist—if you hear something you like, add it to your library.
