Dutch DJ Martin Garrix’s mainstage-closing set at Tomorrowland's virtual Around the World edition was packed with IDs. But the one that garnered the most post-festival chatter was the now officially released “Fire”, the first collaboration between Garrix (under his Ytram alias) and London songwriter/producer Elderbrook, aka Alexander Kotz. “I got introduced to Elderbrook’s music by a good friend and immediately loved his sound,” Garrix tells Apple Music. “I was listening to it non-stop during my holidays when he actually reached out to me via Instagram after one of his tracks ended up in my stories. It was all super fluent and organic, which I love. We just hit it off, and this was the end result.” Kotz was equally excited about the partnership. “Martin is someone I have always been a fan of,” he says. “It was at the height of lockdown, so we had to work back and forth on the song over Zoom. We have still not met each other yet, which is a crazy thought, but we do have a great song and cannot wait for everyone to hear this.” Check out “Fire” here and in Martin Garrix's Tomorrowland DJ mix, which is also available on Apple Music.
