257ers Essentials

Taking their name from the area zip code they emerged from, 257ers have evolved over the years. Breaking away from a graffiti crew in 2005, the group flirted with straightforward hip-hop before settling on the humorous, satirical style that has become their signature. After the 2016 departure of Kolja “Keule” Scholz, remaining duo Daniel “Shneezin” Tailor and Mike “Mikroleader” Rawhide scored the group’s second German number-one album—Mikrokosmos, an ambitious, experimental record that typifies their offbeat approach to rap.
