About Styx

Although they began as a progressive art-rock band, Chicago's Styx would eventually transform into the virtual arena rock prototype by the late '70s and early '80s due to a fondness for bombastic rockers and soaring power ballads. Known for penning classic rock staples like "Lady," "Renegade," "Foolish Young Man," and "Come Sail Away," the band has issued 17 studio albums, including the triple-platinum selling Grand Illusion, Pieces of Eight, and Paradise Theater. Shifting tastes in popular music and multiple lineup changes tempered the group's radio dominance as the decades progressed. Still, Styx remained active on the road and in the studio, releasing late-career triumphs like Cyclorama (2003), The Mission (2017), and Crash of the Crown (2021).
