Berlin DJ, producer and singer-songwriter Monolink blends electronic beats and synthesisers with live instruments and vocals.
• Born Steffen Linck, Monolink started playing guitar at 15, drawing inspiration from Bob Dylan, Neil Young and Leonard Cohen. He discovered electronic music after graduating from high school.
• He began posting music and DJ sets online in 2013. His first single, a three-track collection comprising “Indigo”, “Paralyzed” and “Into the Darkness”, came out the following year.
• Along with solo material and remixes, Monolink collaborated with Acid Pauli (the electronic music project headed by former Notwist programmer Martin Gretschmann) on the 2015 release The End, comprising two songs and three remixes.
• Monolink released his first full-length album, Amniotic, in 2018. He said he intended the album to have “a tremendous tangible connection to life and nature”.
