About Hera Hyesang Park

Soprano Hera Hyesang Park has gained notice not only for her vocal talents but also for a maverick approach to programming. In 2015, Park scored a breakthrough when she took second prize in the Operalia Competition organized by tenor Plácido Domingo; she had already won important prizes in South Korea. Park made her debut at the Metropolitan Opera in 2017 in Dvořák's opera Rusalka. In 2019 she made her recording debut on a live recording of Rossini's Sigismondo with the Munich Radio Symphony Orchestra. Park was signed to Deutsche Grammophon in 2020 and released the album I Am Hera that year. She returned in 2024 with the thematic album Breathe, containing works by composers as diverse as Engelbert Humperdinck, Bernat Vivancos, and Hyo-Won Woo.
