Christian Petru is an Austrian singer whose debut album of Neue Deutsche Welle (New German Wave) covers, Ich Will Spaß, brought him commercial success in 2008. Born on June 14, 1983, in Vienna, Austria, he released Ich Will Spaß (2008) in association with Universal Music. Comprised of well-known NDW songs such as "99 Luftballons" and "Major Tom (Völlig Losgelöst)" covered in a contemporary pop style, Ich Will Spaß was a commercial success throughout the German-language world, reaching the Top Ten in Austria and the Top 30 in Germany and Switzerland. ~ Jason Birchmeier
