About Chairmen of the Board
Led by the distinctive voice of General Johnson, the Chairmen of the Board were flagship artists on Motown songwriters Holland/Dozier/Holland's own Hot Wax/Invicuts label. Their signature song was the yelping hit “Give Me Just a Little More Time.” The group had a number of other R&B hits over the next few years, but by the mid-'70s they had broken up, with Johnson pursuing a solo career. The Chairmen subsequently reunited, and kept performing into the 2000s.
