About Betontod

Ever present on the live German punk circuit since the early '90s, Betontod are comprised of frontman Oliver Meister, guitarists Frank Vohwinkel and Mario Schmelz, bassist Adam Dera, and drummer Maik Feldmann. Originally named Extrem and then Sniffin' Kills, the band formed in Rheinberg in 1990 but took nine years to release its debut album, Hier Kommt Arger. Stoppt Uns Wenn Ihr Könnt! and Schwarzes Blut followed in 2001 and 2006, respectively, but it wasn't until 2010's Glaubeliebehoffnung that they achieved their first German chart entry. After well-received slots at the Force-Attack Festival, Schlachtrufe BRD Tour, and Ruhrpott Rodeo, their fifth album, 2011's Antirockstars, became the biggest album of their slow-burning career. ~ Jon O'Brien
