Recorded at a magazine release party in DeMarco’s then adopted home of New York, Live and Acoustic finds him at arguably his most charming and vulnerable. Though sometimes pigeonholed as a bro, DeMarco is an exceptionally sensitive songwriter and performer, capable of delivering shots of raw tenderness like “Let My Baby Stay” and “Annie” as though they were no big deal. Opening up the set’s most beautiful song—“Only You”—with a burp doesn’t hurt.
