Ray Brown: The Session Musicians

Ray Brown: The Session Musicians

Jazz bassist Ray Brown was an in-demand collaborator for more than half a century, playing agile sideman to master vocalists like Diana Krall and his one-time wife, Ella Fitzgerald, as well as to heavy-hitting musicians like Charlie Parker and Duke Ellington. He could be quiet and subtle, as on Lionel Hampton's slow-burn vibraphone showcase “Willow Weep For Me”, but he also helps ignite Dizzy Gillespie's firecracker bebop on “For Hecklers Only”.
