PNAU Essentials

Like Empire of the Sun, with whom they share a member, Australia's PNAU specialise in grab-your-friends-and-weep-with-joy dance anthems—songs full of punchy beats and the sorts of sing-along choruses that festivals were made for. On their 2007 debut, they flirt with sexily incendiary rave (“Wild Strawberries”) and electroclash (“Embrace”); by 2012's “Good Morning to the Night”, they're drizzling Elton John's vocals over shimmering, propulsive disco. Their dance instincts have just gotten more boisterous over time: With 2017's “Chameleon” and “Changa”, they fuse piano house with playground chants, to giddy effect.
