With their boomtastic raps, scratchy punk riffs and chunky syncopation, H-Blockx have played a starring role in spreading the gospel of rapcore to German headbangers. Though the group were regularly described as nu-metal throughout the '90s, their albums, including the stellar Time to Move, are flavoured with significantly more funk than those of their American counterparts, Korn. Both vocoder and dense, rattling percussion frequently pop up in the band's rambunctious jams. Even when the songs lean more heavily on punk qualities, the music remains devoted to the power of the groove.
