Gasolin' Essentials

Gasolin' Essentials

Gasolin', formed in the late '60s, drew inspiration from the psychedelic vibes of maverick US rock acts. It took them less than a decade to become one of Denmark's most beloved and innovative bands. Their songs—delivered in singer Kim Larsen's rasp—draw lyrical inspiration from folk, conjuring winsome nostalgia with the poeticism and melodicism of a Danish Bob Dylan. They also added in freewheeling rock guitar à la Hendrix and a boundary-pushing appeal that drew frequent comparisons to The Beatles, all blended with a full-throttle jamming style of their own.
