About Sam Crain

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I was maybe four years old. My Dad was playing the piano, writing an arrangement of some sort. When he came to a diminished chord, I insisted he show me. Then I spent the rest of the afternoon banging out that diminished chord. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Sam Crain, Near-Miracle on 33rd Street Sam Crain, Oop Bop Sh' Bang Sam Crain, Tele-Ology I chose these because I'm more myself in them. The titles are unique. One of them even has a double meaning, for what that's worth. And they're all original material largely based on jazz standards. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Rose of Loami” I chose this song for its unique chord progression, and its expressiveness. Written for a woman I fancied at one time. And her name's not Rose.. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I'd have to say a couple of gigs and a number of sessions last year with the great guitarist Jose Emilio Gobbo Jr. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I'd like to do another trio album. At least one more.
