About Powersolo

These Danish retro-rockers have been led from the outset by guitarist and songwriter Kim "Kix" Jeppesen, whose infatuation with classic rockabilly and rock & roll has provided the driving force behind their career. Jeppesen began recording under the Powersolo moniker in 1996 in Aarhus, Jutland, bashing out simple rock & roll numbers on his primitive equipment. He expanded the lineup in the late '90s with the addition of his younger brother Bo Jeppesen aka Atomic Child on drums. The duo performed throughout Europe and America at festivals and clubs, thrilling and confusing audiences in turn with their frantic blend of rock & roll, psychobilly, blues, and cowpunk. Prior to the recording of their debut album, Atomic Child switched to lead guitar and Jens "Chief Benz" Søndergaard was brought into the lineup as the band's new drummer. The 2002 release Lemon Half Moon, the wonderfully titled 2004 follow-up It's Raceday ...And Your Pussy Is Gut!!!, and 2006's Egg saw the trio rattling out their unhinged rockabilly punk, and were fun, lewd, and rude in equal measure. In 2008 the band provided the soundtrack for the Danish crime drama feature film Himmerland, followed by the all new studio LP Bloodskinbones in 2009. The typically nervy and raucous Buzz Human, the band's fifth full-length outing, arrived in 2011, followed by the sonically like-minded Real Sound in 2014. ~ James Christopher Monger
