About Janine Davy

Singer Janine Davy was born and raised in Rockville, MD. Her father was a professional flutist in the U.S. Air Force Band, and her mother a singer. She learned a variety of instruments while growing up, but preferred singing. She performed extensively around southern Maryland, leading the classic rock band Janine Davy & Heartspeak, also featuring her brother, guitarist Erich Seehafer. On October 25, 2005, Funkstown Records released her debut album, Looking for You. The Memphis, TN, label was founded by songwriter Steven Digman and featured many of his compositions. Digman was a former associate of singer Eva Cassidy, who recorded a number of his songs, and the album featured several of Cassidy's backup musicians. Chris Biondo, Cassidy's producer, co-produced the album with Digman. ~ William Ruhlmann
