Morgan Heritage Essentials

Much like the Marleys before them, reggae supergroup Morgan Heritage make a solid case for musical talent being hereditary. The collective consists of Gramps, Peetah, Lukes, Mr. Mojo and daughter Una—all children of Jamaican singer Denroy Morgan. Since debuting in '94 with Miracle, the group has churned out polished, radio-ready roots reggae, exemplified by tunes like “Nah Haffi Dread,” “Down By the River,” and “Liberation.” Taking cues from their father, the siblings mix both Jamaican and American influences. Their sound is traditional, but has a smooth R&B lilt to it.
