Elisabeth Moss: My 'Shining Girls' Playlist

“This playlist is a combination of pieces that I use for every project to help inspire me in prep or on-set or as temp music cues,” Elisabeth Moss tells Apple Music about these selections she’s made in honour of the series premiere of her new Apple Original, Shining Girls. Read her comments on a couple of tracks she’s picked, and if you hear something you like, add it to your library. Christoph von Dohnányi, “Concerto for Violin and Orchestra: = Ca. 108” “This is a track that I used as a cue in Episode 7 of Shining Girls, but it didn’t make the final cut. I won’t say which scene, but when you see the episode, you may be able to guess. It’s one of my favourite pieces by Philip Glass and has one of the best builds ever written. This whole album is a feat of epic proportions. I will have to find another place to put it in the future because it’s one of my favourite pieces.” Chick Corea, “Concerto for Piano and Orchestra in D minor, K.466: Prelude - I. Allegro” “Chick Corea was my godfather, and this is one of my favourite pieces of his. Three gifted artists coming together—Chick, Bobby McFerrin and, of course, Mozart—in an incredible reimagining of a classic concerto. Chick’s piano solo near the end is one of the greatest ever played in the history of music.”
