About Sweater Girls
Sweater Girls are an indie pop group from Los Angeles who take inspiration from noisy indie poppers like Black Tambourine and the Shop Assistants, but also sweethearts like the Softies and any number of Amelia Fletcher-led projects. The band formed in 2009 and quickly caught the ear of Georgia-based pop label Happy Happy Birthday to Me. After playing the NYC Popfest in the spring of 2011, the band had a relatively quiet year. They returned in 2012 with a cover of the Jonathan Richman song "I'm a Little Dinosaur" and their debut album, Sweater Girls Were Here.... It was produced by former Mighty Lemon Drops member David Newton and released on Happy Happy Birthday to Me in September. ~ Tim Sendra
