Emanuel Ortega

About Emanuel Ortega

Latin pop star Ramón Ortega's son Emanuel was captivated by music at a very young age, inspired by his father's success. When Emanuel Ortega was six years old, his family moved to the U.S. to settle down in Miami, where the young boy had the chance to become bilingual. Emanuel Ortega's artistic debut came in 1989 while recording a song called "Para Siempre Amigos" with Palito Ortega. Two years later, the singer returned to Argentina, forming a band called Ladrones De Ladrones. After performing on a local TV show, Emanuel Ortega had the opportunity to get a record deal and started his solo career with his first album Conociendonos, released in November of 1993, achieving gold and, soon after, platinum status in Argentina. In 1994, Ortega started touring his country for the first time. A year later, the consolidated artist moved to the U.S., this time to work along with producer Carlos Alvarez. The following record, called Soñe, was presented live at Buenos Aires' Opera Theatre, establishing the hit song "Timidez." ~ Drago Bonacich
