On his debut EP TOO LATE TOO LIT, KDDO deftly threads an Afrocentric impulse between R&B, hip-hop and house soundbeds. The Lagos-born artist/producer reunites with Davido on “Beamer Body”, ropes Cassper Nyovest into the amapiano-tinged “eWallet” and taps The Cavemen for the highlife-infused “Holy Ghost Fire”. While Sho Madjozi adds colour to “20 Something”, the nostalgic chords of the Bas- and Jidenna-assisted “Party” display KDDO’s sonic dexterity.
