Faust Essentials

Faust Essentials

One of Krautrock's pioneering bands, Faust blurred the lines between psychedelic rock, experimental noise and off-the-wall pop. Formed in 1971, the German group released four wildly different albums before breaking up in 1975. Faust used tape loops, electronic drones, synthesizers and more to create dizzying collages and fractured songs. Their playful yet experimental music led directly to post-punk, industrial and electronic, inspiring multiple generations of avant-garde artists. Faust finally returned with a new lineup in the '90s, continuing their strange and always unpredictable journey.
