Rod Williams

A pianist and bandleader who's recorded one session for Muse with Marty Erlich, Graham Haynes and Charnett Moffett in the late '80s. Williams is still developing a sound and style, but has shown good skills on previous sessions playing with Eddie Harris, David Murray and Cassandra Wilson. He's been a solid soloist and effective accompanist in large band or small combo situations. Williams' session as a leader is available on CD, and he can also be heard on recent dates by Murray and Wilson. ~ Ron Wynn
