The Delgados Essentials

The Delgados Essentials

In their decade together, The Delgados effortlessly grew from lo-fi indie rockers to refined symphonic-pop architects. After releasing their scrappy, slightly punky 1996 debut, Domestiques, on their Chemikal Underground label, the Scottish band soon came into their own, working their arrangements into beautifully ornate melodies. At their core is the silky blend of Alun Woodward and Emma Pollock's vocals, the duo's gentle croons lending a tender touch to dreamy, folky meditations like "Pull the Wires from the Wall" and sweeping Dave Fridmann-produced epics like "The Light Before We Land".
