Debbie Gibson Essentials

Debbie Gibson didn't break into show business like most young stars. The precocious young New York native began writing and recording her own songs on a home tape recorder during her early teens. She'd had experience singing in the Met's children's chorus, but Gibson's parents spent years watching her work at music for her own fulfilment before they finally agreed to let her cut a professional demo. She became a huge sensation with her 1987 album Out of the Blue and 1989's Electric Youth, as fans could sense that Gibson's squeaky clean image wasn't manufactured.
