About Brand X
Fusion ensemble Brand X formed in England in 1974. Phil Collins was one of the first drummers for the group, before quitting to devote himself to Genesis. The group also included guitarist John Goodsall (of Atomic Rooster), bassist Percy Jones, and keyboardist Robin Lumley, among others. Brand X introduced its blend of jazz-rock and prog-rock on 1976’s UNORTHODOX BEHAVIOR, followed by a live release, and 1977’s MOROCCAN ROLL. The group endured line-up changes, but continued to release albums into the early ‘80s, before disbanding. In the mid-‘90s some original Brand X members reunited to tour and release live recordings.
