Keshia Chanté Essentials

Canadian singer-songwriter Keshia Chanté fluidly explores R&B, always creating music imbued with heartfelt and relatable lyrics about love. Born in Ottawa in 1988, she began her career solidly in the genre, as heard on her breakthrough single, 2003’s “Unpredictable”, which samples the DeBarge hit “A Dream”. In the early 2010s, Chanté began experimenting with pop and EDM through energetic songs like the club-ready “Table Dancer”. She would eventually entwine these approaches, building her own singular world of soulful dance music on later releases like 2017’s “F**k It Tho”. Chanté uses her music to dissect and celebrate romance and invites listeners to do the same, using her reflective material as inspiration.
