Josh Rouse Essentials

Singer/songwriter Josh Rouse has spent much of his career seeking to define the idea and ideals of home. Physical places and the memories they hold serve as his greatest muses, starting with the cosy acoustic pop of 1998's Dressed Up Like Nebraska, a tribute to his native state, followed by Home, featuring the spry, string-touched "Directions". Since then, he's moved between Nashville and Spain and continued to find comfort in locales both near and far, infusing his soft-rocking melodies with Southern twang ("Carolina"), groovy baroque flourishes ("Hollywood Bass Player") and slick synth-pop ("Salton Sea").
