Eddy Mitchell Essentials

Eddy Mitchell Essentials

All-American rock 'n' roll, country and R&B meet sentimental French chanson throughout the long career of Eddy Mitchell, who began bouncing back and forth across the Atlantic in 1960. With Chuck Berry's riffs and Elvis' attitude as inspiration, the gregarious, gruff-voiced performer faithfully translated rock into French with band Les Chaussettes Noires. Going solo in 1963, he sang that his heart lay halfway between Belleville and Nashville, where he often recorded. The debonair star later added big-band jazz and big-hearted balladry to his entertainment quiver.
